A brief note on the primates’ communiqué I had intended to give a little more information about the communiqué this time, but two factors make that difficult. First, the length of the text itself makes a complete analysis difficult at this point. Second, the Episcopal Church's House of Bishops is meeting in a few days. I had hoped to be able to share the initial reactions from the House as well, but that will have to wait. I think the communiqué speaks clearly and will repay you for reading it yourself. Let me point out that it is not "them" telling "us" what to do. The primates unanimously agreed on this statement, which has incorporated the perspective of the Episcopal Church's presiding bishop as well as others. Bishop Schori has called it an invitation, and it is that. It invites the Episcopal Church's House of Bishops to be clear in their resolve to help restore the brokenness of the Communion. At the same time, it communicates clearly the Anglican Communion's position and the direction it is taking. In this diocese, we have always set a high priority on our connection with the Anglican Communion. Over the years, we have adopted various resolutions at our convention that demonstrate this. We are loyal to the "doctrine, discipline, and worship" of the Episcopal Church, but we are and will be faithful members of the Anglican Communion, as well. The communiqué speaks to us and provides us a way to do these things. For our part, this diocese will accept the communiqué's invitation by walking the course it charts. Please read it. Yo pensaba en aquel entonces darles un poco más información respecto al comunicado este momento, pero dos factores me impiden: En primer lugar, la extensión del texto hace difícil un análisis completo en este momento. En segundo lugar, la Cámara de Obispos se reúne en algunos días. Yo pensaba compartir con ustedes las reacciones iniciales de los miembros de la Cámara también, pero eso queda para más tarde.
