The Episcopal Commission on Addiction and Recovery

he Episcopal Commission on Addiction & Recovery is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas dedicated to enhancing the spiritual, physical, emotional, and social well-being of communicants in matters of substance abuse and other addictions. Our primary objective is to provide information, education, and resources for recovery within the framework of the restorative Gospel of Love.

The Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Diocesan House. The Commission recognizes that alcoholism, drug dependency, co-dependency, and other addictions affect many persons in our Diocese. Our goal is to support and affirm an addiction-free lifestyle, and to build bridges to programs that help people address addictions of all kinds. We will stay informed about community resources and offer referral assistance when needed.

O blessed Lord, you ministered to all who came to you. Look with compassion upon all who through addiction have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy, remove from them the fears that beset them; strengthen them in the work of their recovery; and to those who care for them, give patient understanding and persevering love. Amen.
